Drone danger declared in Volgograd, airport closed
Residents received warnings on their phones instructing them to avoid open areas and windows.
Russia«s Emergencies Ministry (RSChS) sent out a warning about a drone danger in the region. The message arrived on residents» mobile phones.
«Attention! A drone danger has been declared in Volgograd region. Avoid open areas of streets. Do not approach windows. Phone: 112,» the message said.
Earlier, the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) imposed restrictions on takeoffs and landings at Volgograd Airport. As of the time of writing, there were no flight delays.
Recall that the previous day, a drone danger was also declared in the region and the airport was closed. As a result, three flights from Moscow and back were delayed. Later, Governor Andrei Bocharov announced the repelling of a drone attack on industrial infrastructure facilities in southern Volgograd. No casualties among people were reported. Nevertheless, at one of the schools in Volgograd, children were moved to a safe place during the drone danger, while emergency services and municipal employees worked to search for and eliminate possible drone debris.
