Dog Owners Use Yekaterinburg School Playground for Walking

The territory of School No. 121 in Yekaterinburg has become a regular spot for dog walking. According to one resident, pet owners do not clean up after them and often let their dogs off leash.

“How long will this go on? They trample the ski track, leave poop. The second shift is still in school, and the dogs aren«t small! Are we waiting for someone to get bitten again? Other schools don»t have this. Training should be done on Metallurgov, where there«s a special enclosure for walking,”

Some dog owners, however, are sure that their actions don«t bother anyone.

“There are no normal spacious areas around where you can walk a dog. At the school, all the children play and walk mainly on the other side, where the stadium is. And if there are no children in this zone, no pedestrians either, and they clean up after the dogs, then who are they bothering?”

The Yekaterinburg city hall announced a planned inspection.

“We would like to remind citizen dog owners of the rules of decency and the existence of a law requiring them to clean up after their pets. Moreover, the school territory has a certain access regime that must be observed,”
