Cult Rostov coffee shop Setter's closes, owner plans new concept

The popular coffee shop Setter«s has closed in Rostov, its owner and restaurateur Vladimir Bektemirov announced. According to him, the establishment faced a decline in customer traffic.

«We are closing Setter»s. In fact, this has been going on for quite a long time, and the closure was inevitable. The drop in customer traffic has been going on for two years now. On one hand, a legend is leaving, a cool project that has remained in the hearts of many. On the other hand, we don«t want to abandon it, and in its place we have already come up with a new cool story,» restaurateur Vladimir Bektemirov said on his social media.
According to him, the new establishment will have a different concept.
«Therefore, we pick ourselves up as quickly as possible and prepare for productive work,» the restaurateur stated.
Setter«s is a cult coffee shop in Rostov. It currently has two branches: at 181 Pushkinskaya Street and 81 Moskovskaya Street.
January 31 was the coffee shop«s last day of operation. In the comments on Bektemirov»s social media, fans of the coffee shop expressed regret over its closure.
«A new concept without the drama is great. But Setter»s is like a part of identifying yourself as a Rostovite. It«s a calm, cozy place where no one ever rushed, and you understood that you didn»t have to either,« one of the commenters wrote.
Vladimir Bektemirov became the owner of the coffee shop in 2025. In a lengthy interview for 161.RU last November, the restaurateur said he had no plans to change the concept of Setter«s. But he saw the need to create a main product there, besides coffee. In 2025, several popular restaurant projects announced their closure in Rostov: Age, Ami Osteria, Memories, Leto, Mama Donna, Dhaba, Sababa, and others. In early January, several more intimate establishments closed. Restaurateurs and experts link this to the crisis and high taxes for businesses.
