Life in the countryside is full of romance, and people are embracing it more each year. A distinct aesthetic trend—cottagecore—has even emerged, promoting a calm, measured life away from urban noise. In Chita (in Siberia, Russia), the dream of quiet, a nearby forest, a beautiful home, and few neighbors is quite achievable.

In Smolenka, the company Modern is building two residential houses at once—«Maysky» and «Garmonia» (Harmony). The projects are designed for year-round living and suit families who want to move to the countryside without losing their usual comfort. Both houses will become part of a complex of five cottages.

«Maysky» is a single-story house with an area of 112 square meters, featuring a garage and a spacious terrace. It is built from planed and sanded timber, with a well-thought-out design for the external and internal walls.

Inside there are two bedrooms, a kitchen-living room, a bathroom, a boiler room, and an entrance hall. The house is fully move-in ready: heated floors, a combined heating system, stretch ceilings, windows with a wide profile, and an entrance door with a thermal break.

The house is situated on a plot of 9.3 sotkas (approximately 0.23 acres). The area is fenced, with sliding gates and a wicket. The price is 7 million rubles (about $78,000 at current rates).

The second project, «Garmonia» (Harmony), is slightly larger at 114 square meters. The layout is designed for comfortable family life and includes two bedrooms, an enlarged kitchen-living room, separate bathroom and toilet, a spacious entrance hall, a boiler room, and a garage.

A feature of this house is two terraces, which can be used for relaxation, a summer dining area, or a barbecue zone. As in «Maysky», it uses planed timber, insulated floors, heated floors, combined heating, and fully completed utility networks.

The plot also measures 9.3 sotkas (approximately 0.23 acres), with fencing, gates, and a wicket. The price is 7.8 million rubles (about $86,700 at current rates).

The cost of both houses already includes all necessary utilities: wells, water filtration systems, water heaters, piping to plumbing fixtures, a 10-cubic-meter septic tank, and electrical wiring with sockets, switches, and lighting, including facade lights.

The houses are located in an area with developed infrastructure: within walking distance are shops, pharmacies, nearby School No. 1 and the «Forest Fairy Tale» kindergarten. It is about 10 minutes to the paved road and roughly 12 minutes by car to the center of Chita.

The Modern company does not only work on individual houses. Among its projects are the business-class cottage complex Elite Woods, and the construction of houses according to standard and custom designs on clients« plots. The developer also plans to build the Yantarny cottage village with 40 houses, a playground, and a shop.
