«Don«t move, don»t look at me, I«m scared myself. Why are your eyes so crossed? Guys, this is scary! … Do bats hibernate for the winter or not? That»s it, I have a phobia,» the video«s author commented on the events. He later managed to escort the animal out of the apartment, although this moment is not shown in the published footage.
Most bats enter hibernation in the cold season to conserve energy when insects—their primary food—disappear. Several factors can disrupt this pattern:
- abnormally warm weather in their habitat;
- insufficient fat reserves before the cold;
- illness of the animal.
Certain species of bats choose seasonal migration to regions with milder climates instead of hibernation.
