An anonymous bomb threat call led to the evacuation of students from School No. 8 in the 5th microdistrict of the KSK settlement in Chita. This was reported to a Chita.Ru correspondent on 20 January by the press secretary of the city«s education committee, Geser Radnayev.

Earlier, an eyewitness reported that emergency services cordoned off the school building in KSK and students were taken to a neighboring educational institution. The road was blocked.

According to him, the call was made to a landline phone.

“In accordance with established procedures, the educational institution’s management immediately informed law enforcement agencies about the incident,” Radnayev noted.

He added that the relevant services are currently conducting an inspection and examining the school building.

Update: The press service of the Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) directorate for the Zabaykalsky Krai reported that no suspicious items were found during the inspection of the school.
