Abandoned pavilions on Predmostnaya Square (in Krasnoyarsk, Russia) have been fenced off with netting to restrict access, the press service of the Department of Urban Development told NGS24.RU. The pavilions are being prepared for demolition, although a contractor has not yet been selected.

Regional deputy Ilya Zaytsev also drew attention to the netting. According to him, the dismantling of the pavilions is beginning on Predmostnaya.

«Today netting appeared there, restricting passage, and in the coming days — a solid fence. This was done to restrict access to outsiders during the work,» he wrote.

At the beginning of July, the deputy wrote that residents were complaining about the abandoned pavilions: homeless people, scrap metal hunters, and teenagers were taking shelter there. «The windows are broken, doors are open, cable remnants lie around, and inside and around — trash,» he described.

The Department of Urban Development confirmed to NGS24.RU that they have temporarily fenced off the structures with netting. The pavilions on Predmostnaya, which mainly housed fast food outlets, were vacated and disconnected from electricity at the end of winter. They are to be demolished for a major reconstruction of Krasnoyarsky Rabochy Avenue (a major thoroughfare in Krasnoyarsk).

Two tenders were announced for the reconstruction. The first — for 176.8 million rubles (approximately $1,964,400 at current rates) for road repairs from Predmostnaya to Koltsevaya, won by the company MontazhSpetsStroy. The second — for reconstruction of Krasrab from the «Siberian Penal Route» memorial to the circle on Predmostnaya for 108 million rubles (approximately $1,200,000 at current rates). It is within this tender that six pavilions need to be demolished. However, no bids were submitted for this tender (1, 2, 3, 4).

The department clarified that the tender conditions are now being adjusted and will be re-announced. When a contractor is selected, the site will be fenced off with a proper construction fence, and then the abandoned pavilions will be demolished, they assured.
