Bogomolov to Stage 'Office Romance' at Teatr na Bronnoy

Konstantin Bogomolov has announced a production of 'Office Romance' at the Teatr na Bronnoy. The statement was made amid controversies over his appointment as acting rector of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio.

The artistic director of Teatr na Bronnoy, Konstantin Bogomolov, announced his upcoming creative plans on his Telegram channel, including work on «Office Romance».

The director wrote: «At Bronnaya, I am rehearsing Euripides – »Iphigenia«. The working title is »Odyssey 2070«. I am rehearsing a massive work based on Dostoevsky, which I will release by the end of the calendar year. And also »Office Romance«.»

Additionally, at the end of March, the stage on Stromynka is expecting the premiere of a musical based on the film «Burn, Burn, My Star» directed by Nina Chusova. Towards the end of the season, the same venue will present «Crime and Punishment» by Sergei Khotkov, a master«s student of Bogomolov at GITIS, and »The Snow Maiden« based on the play by Ostrovsky.

The announcement came in the context of discussions surrounding Bogomolov«s appointment as acting rector of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio. Some graduates appealed to Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova to reconsider the decision, pointing to a violation of succession traditions. Bogomolov characterized these arguments as »stupid and naive«.
