The Tyumen woman states she has filed multiple complaints against her relative with the police.

Residents of Tyumen complain that police do not always respond to calls for help. Earlier, a public activist expressed outrage at the work of the «102» service (police emergency line). He reported a case of a lost child. People tried to call the police about this, but no one came to them.

Recently, a Tyumen woman contacted our editorial office and told about a difficult situation in her family. The woman is forced to live with an aggressive father-in-law. A few days ago, due to another conflict, she called the police, but no one came.

Why the Tyumen Woman Lives with an Aggressive Relative

«I have been living in this family for 18 years. As long as I can remember, my father-in-law has always drunk, but he wasn’t so aggressive. He never worked in one place for more than a month. My husband, when he’s not on a business trip, calms him down,» the Tyumen woman began her story.

According to her, she and her husband have no opportunity to live separately from the father-in-law.

«We, like an ordinary family, have loans that are paid off and taken out again. We want to take out a mortgage, but with interest rates as they are now — it’s unrealistic,» the woman explained.

The Tyumen woman claims that her father-in-law abuses alcohol.

«He comes out of a binge for a few days and starts drinking again. He has been receiving a pension for a year now, so there’s always money for drink. In such a situation, I rarely call and summon the police because my husband usually handles it. Morally, of course, it’s hard for everyone, but hardest for my husband because it’s his father, and it’s becoming more and more difficult to deal with him. He refuses to get treatment or go through coding,» she added.

The woman, when alone in the apartment with her father-in-law, is afraid of him.

«I am most afraid of him in the first days of a binge because on those days he is very aggressive and can run around with a knife, threatening to stab me or my husband. I’m afraid that someday something will snap in his head and he might carry it out. It also happens that he says, like, I’ll set everything on fire right now, as it was just a few days ago. I took my phone and said I would record him on video so I have evidence. And he calmed down,» the city resident added.

She Called the Police, But No One Came

The last time the Tyumen woman had to call the police was very recently.

«The call was accepted, but no one came. And no one called. And what if at that moment I had already been stabbed? After all, it could have happened. Complaints against him were written long ago,» she concluded.

What Do the Police Say?

A journalist from 72.RU sent a request to the UMVD for Tyumen Region (Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Tyumen Region) regarding this case. They said they are looking into the whole story.

«The report about threats from a relative against the woman has been registered at Police Department No. 6 and forwarded to the local police officer for investigation. A check is being conducted regarding the untimely response to the citizen’s report,» our publication was told by the management.

In the UMVD of Russia for Tyumen Region, there is a single hotline intended for direct 24-hour telephone communication for citizens: +7 (3452) 29-14-32.
