Residents of an apartment building at 17 Speransky Street in Tyumen have faced a real invasion of people searching for drug stashes. They act openly, unashamed of passersby, and some go out searching with children.
The inaction of law enforcement has led to a climate of impunity among drug users in the area.
According to local residents, the problem has existed for a long time. Drug addicts constantly search the entrance and yard, which frightens people since it«s unknown how a person seeking a dose might behave. Tired of this, residents collected photos and videos and handed them over to the police in early January. Almost a month has passed since the complaint was filed, but no changes have occurred.
«They often walk in the entrance, and we suspect that dealers live in the building. The complaint, photos, and videos were handed over to the police in early January, but there»s no response. Stash hunters come almost every day, especially before weekends,« said one of the residents.
Surveillance cameras recorded how people approach the house and start searching for something, feeling the walls and windowsills, after which they quickly leave. The recordings show that the searchers are not embarrassed by either passersby or cameras. Some come with small children, likely using them as cover.
Stash hunters and drug addicts are a common occurrence in the Eastern microdistrict of Tyumen. It was previously reported that they besiege yards, dig up flower beds, and even come to search for drugs in trucks.
