Mother charged with drowning five-year-old son in Moscow bathroom

The mother of a five-year-old child, drowned in a bathroom on Saturday, has been charged with the murder of a minor. This was reported by the Moscow Investigative Committee.

Investigators found that the woman did not want to raise and care for her son. Because of this, she dragged her five-year-old child to the bathroom, tied his neck with a robe belt and simultaneously drowned him in the bathtub. After committing the terrible crime, the mother confirmed the child«s death and called the police herself.

During interrogation, the woman confessed to the murder and told investigators that she had long contemplated such a terrible act. On Monday, a preventive measure will be chosen for her. Currently, a criminal case is being investigated under paragraph «v» of part 2 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder of a minor).

Earlier, the Telegram channel Baza reported that it allegedly involves a 46-year-old woman from Yakutia, who previously falsely accused one of her stepsons. To do this, she beat herself with a hammer. Additionally, she allegedly accused one of her husbands of sexualized violence against her daughter (his stepdaughter), while she herself tortured the girl. The publication also claims that the woman«s mother suffered from schizophrenia.

The tragedy occurred on Brateyevskaya Street in southern Moscow. After that, information appeared that the allegedly unstable woman wanted to send the child «to heaven»: she would go to Orthodox churches, then show interest in Judaism.
