Former Sochi judge Valery Sluka remanded in custody
The Pervomaysky District Court in Krasnodar has remanded former Sochi judge Valery Sluka in custody on charges of abuse of authority and issuing knowingly unjust verdicts.

Valery Sluka, the former Central District Court judge in Sochi, is 67 years old and was detained while attempting to leave the country.

The Pervomaysky District Court of Krasnodar has chosen custody as a preventive measure for former judge of the Central District Court of Sochi, Valery Sluka. He is accused of abuse of official powers and knowingly unjust decisions. He will spend the next two months in a pre-trial detention center.
Recall that earlier, a search was conducted at the home of former Sochi judge Valery Sluka.
Sluka was detained in Vladikavkaz, from where he was planning to travel to Georgia.
We reported that on January 28, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, with the consent of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation, initiated a criminal case on seven episodes of crimes under Part 2 of Article 286 and Part 1 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers and issuing knowingly unjust decisions) against judge of the Central District Court of Sochi Valery Sluka, whose powers were prematurely terminated.
