Attempted murder of blogger under investigation in Nizhny Novgorod

A criminal case has been initiated in Nizhny Novgorod regarding an attempted contract killing. According to investigators, a local businesswoman tried to organize the elimination of blogger Marina Ilyina, who published an exposé video about her beauty salon.
According to preliminary data, the woman, with the help of an acquaintance, found a 25-year-old executor, provided him with necessary information about the victim and funds. Law enforcement agencies became aware of the planned crime.
Through joint actions by police, investigators, and Rosgvardiya (the National Guard of Russia), the suspects were detained. During searches, communication devices, data storage media, computer equipment, documents, and other items of evidentiary value were seized from them.
Official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) Irina Volk stated: «During searches, communication devices, data storage media, computer equipment, documents, and other items of evidentiary value were seized from them. Various preventive measures have been chosen for the individuals involved.»
The target of the attempt was Nizhny Novgorod blogger Marina Ilyina, who conducts inspections of beauty salons in the manner of the project «Revizorro», a Russian inspection show. The head of the cosmetology studio, Maria Bogomazova, and her accomplice were placed under house arrest, while the alleged hitman was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
