Yaroslavl authorities warn of record cold, advise fuel reserves

Frosty weather is forecast for the morning of January 31 in Yaroslavl Oblast, according to the city administration.
«Frosty weather of -30°C (-22°F) is expected in the north of Yaroslavl Oblast during the night and morning of January 31. Drivers planning intercity trips in low temperatures should carry a reserve of fuel, drinking water, and warm clothing,» city authorities warned.
The emergency services number is 112.
According to the service «Pogoda 76.RU», in Yaroslavl on January 31, the thermometer will drop to -21°C (-6°F). On the night of February 1, the cold will reach -23°C (-9°F). Snowfall is also expected. A slight warming is forecast only in the second half of next week: on February 5, the air temperature will rise to -11°C (12°F).
