Wet Snow and Temperature Swings Forecast for Kuban Start of Week

In Krasnodar Krai on January 26, there will be variable cloudiness. In some areas, rain and wet snow will occur. At night and in the morning, roads may be icy, with wind speeds of 12-14 m/s. At night, temperatures are expected to be +2 to -3 °C (36 to 27 °F), in the north of the region significantly colder (down to -6 to -11 °C / 21 to 12 °F).

During the day, thermometers will show -1 to +4 °C (30 to 39 °F). In the south, forecasters from the regional hydrometeorological center predict significant warming up to +9 to +14 °C (48 to 57 °F). On the Black Sea coast, temperatures are expected to be +2 to +7 °C (36 to 45 °F) at night, and +8 to +13 °C (46 to 55 °F) during the day.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) of Krasnodar Krai has issued a storm warning. Thus, on January 26, as well as overnight and in the morning of January 27, weather will deteriorate in the region. Strong accumulation of wet snow on power lines and trees is expected, along with ice, and snowfall will begin in the north and east.

Residents of Krasnodar should not expect warming at the start of the work week. In the city, it will be cloudy with 0 °C (32 °F) during the day, cooling down to -2 °C (28 °F) at night. But already on Tuesday, January 27, the temperature will rise slightly to +2 °C (36 °F). The next day, the city will experience a sharp warming up to +11 °C (52 °F), and such weather will persist until the end of the week.
