Voronezh Braces for Heavy Snow and Severe Frost

The region prepares for a major snowfall event amid ongoing cold weather conditions.

A storm warning due to snowfall has been declared in the Voronezh region for January 31. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).
Very heavy snow is expected in the north of the region, including Voronezh itself. Thermometers will show down to -10 degrees Celsius (14°F). Meanwhile, in the south of the region, according to the Hydrometeorological Center, there will be only wet snow accompanied by ice and up to +1 degree Celsius (34°F).
After the snowfall, the weather in the region will not improve. Already on the night of February 2, severe frosts are expected in the region: down to -30 degrees Celsius (-22°F) in the districts, down to -28 degrees Celsius (-18°F) in Voronezh. During the day, it will not be much warmer, with thermometers showing around -20 degrees Celsius (-4°F).
According to the Gismeteo portal and Yandex.Maps, the frosts will linger in the Voronezh region until the middle of next week. Only by February 5 will it begin to warm up slightly, at least the temperature will stop dropping below -15 degrees Celsius (5°F) both day and night.
