Forecasters from the Russian Hydrometcenter have detailed what to expect from February this year. According to specialists« predictions, the last month of winter will be warmer than usual.

«According to forecasts, February will be on average one degree Celsius warmer than the long-term average,» the forecasters reported.
There is also a snow forecast.
«An anomalously high amount of precipitation is expected,» warned specialists from the Russian Hydrometcenter.
The prevailing night air temperature in February will range from -14 to -9°C (7 to 16°F), while daytime temperatures will be between -9 and -4°C (16 to 25°F).
«During cold spells, the air temperature at night will drop to -24 to -19°C (-11 to -2°F). Daytime temperatures will be slightly higher: -17 to -12°C (1 to 10°F),» the specialists said.
Normally, the average daily air temperature in February is between -12 and -8°C (10 to 18°F).
«An anomaly is forecast: the air temperature is expected to be one degree above normal,» reported forecasters from the Russian Hydrometcenter.
Typically, the southern part of the Volga Federal District receives 24 to 44 millimeters of precipitation in February.
«In 2026, more snow than usual is anticipated,» the specialists shared in their forecast.
Recently, a major snowstorm was expected from Moscow, but it did not reach Samara Oblast. However, the ten-day forecast is already coming true.
