Rostov Region Weekend Weather: Temperature Swings Expected

Frost is returning to the Don region this weekend, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures and mixed precipitation, according to the local weather center.

Over the weekend of January 31 – February 1, the weather in the Rostov region will be changeable. While temperatures will still be above freezing on Saturday, by Sunday the region will see the return of frost and precipitation. This is according to data from the Rostov Hydrometeorological Center.
In Rostov on Saturday, January 31: cloudy with clear spells. Occasional rain. Morning ice. Wind southeast veering southwest at 6–11 meters per second. Daytime temperatures from +2 to +4°C (36–39°F), night temperatures from -2 to -4°C (28–25°F).
On the first day of February, Sunday, frost will return to the city. Daytime temperatures will drop to -4°C (25°F), and at night to -16°C (3°F).
In the morning, precipitation in the form of rain turning to wet snow and snow. Accumulation of wet snow on power lines and trees is expected. Precipitation will stop in the afternoon.
Ice will be present throughout the day. The wind will blow from the southwest, veering to northwest at 7–12 meters per second.
In the rest of the Rostov region, the picture is similar. On Saturday, January 31: cloudy with clear spells. In some places, light to moderate precipitation in the form of rain, with wet snow in the morning. In some areas: fog, ice, and icy roads.
Wind: southeast veering southwest at 6–11 meters per second. Daytime temperatures 0 to +5°C (32–41°F), night temperatures -3 to -2°C (27–28°F), but during clear spells down to -9°C (16°F), and in the north and west down to -15°C (5°F).
On Sunday, February 1: cloudy with clear spells. Light to moderate precipitation is forecast in the form of rain turning to wet snow and snow. In some areas: ice, accumulation of wet snow on power lines and trees, and fog in the south at night and in the morning. Icy roads.
Wind: southwest veering northwest at 7–12 meters per second. Daytime temperatures in the northern half: -10 to -15°C (14 to 5°F), in the southern half: -2 to -7°C (28 to 19°F), and in the extreme southern areas up to 0°C (32°F).
