Mobile photographer Yevgenia recorded the first thaw of 2026 in Volgograd Region after prolonged anomalous frosts. The photos were taken in the vicinity of the city of Nikolayevsk, located on the opposite bank of the Volga River from Kamyshin.

Following the temperature rise, the region was enveloped in dense fog, traces of which are visible in the frames. These weather changes were caused by a cyclone passing over the region. According to meteorologists« forecasts, the cyclone will linger here for several more days before strong frosts return.

Winter scenes of the region after the blizzard have already been showcased by other photographers. Last weekend, motorists, for example, shared images of the snow-covered R-228 highway from Syzran to Saratov and Volgograd. Earlier, photographer Svetlana Gutorova captured a series of photos of Volgograd«s city center at night in winter attire.
