A section of the road between Manggut and Kyra has been flooded with groundwater, making passage difficult despite road workers« efforts. As reported to Chita.Ru on 30 January by the head of Kyra district, Lyubov Sakiyaeva, only constructing a new road on this section will solve the problem.

«The road section between Manggut and Kyra, about 7 kilometers long, is not paved. Locals call it the »fifth point.« Every year in winter, spring, and autumn, groundwater emerges there, and passage becomes difficult. Now it»s exactly the same situation. Road workers ensure passage by constantly adding fill material, but it doesn«t help much because the water keeps coming. However, the connection between the villages has not been interrupted even for half a day,» said Lyubov Sakiyaeva.

She noted that a company from Khabarovsk has conducted work and compiled defect reports. The section needs not repair but construction, meaning a large volume of gravel filling and asphalt laying. According to the plan, this section is scheduled for 2027. This year, authorities aim to repair 10 kilometers of this road.
