Frosts to Strengthen to -30°C in Arkhangelsk Region
A warm weekend is expected before the cold returns and intensifies next week.

The Northern UGMS forecasts cyclonic weather bringing snow and a return to severe frosts in the Arkhangelsk Region.

Next week, it will get cold again in the Arkhangelsk Region. Meteorologists report that after a warm weekend the frost will strengthen.
«Next week, cyclonic weather will predominate, so snow is expected in most areas. By mid-week, the frost will strengthen again,» reports the Northern UGMS (Severnyy UGMS – Hydrometeorological Service).
Temperatures are expected to drop to -13… -18 °C (9…0 °F), and during clear spells to -25… -30 °C (-13… -22 °F).
On the weekend, January 24–25, it will warm up in the Arkhangelsk Region. In some areas, temperatures will rise to -5… -10 °C (23…14 °F).

Recall that in early January, residents of one of the apartment buildings in Arkhangelsk were left without hot water and heating during the frost. In their entrance, the radiators burst, and temperatures in the apartments do not rise above 12 °C (54 °F). Reports of cold in apartments came from different parts of the city.
