Residents may see very snowy days by the end of the month.
January, which brought Altai Krai abnormal cold and real Epiphany frosts, is finally coming to an end. Next week, it will give way to the last month of winter. But what will the last January days be like?
The weekend will bring temperatures up to -6°C (21°F) in the region.
Should we prepare for new weather anomalies or continue to enjoy the «thaw» after the frost? NGS22.RU studied data from three weather services and found out what the weather will be in the region from 26 January to 1 February 2026.
Thermometers will not fall below -20°C (-4°F) in the final week of January.

A mid-week cooldown to -15°C (5°F) is predicted for the krai.
According to this service, the new week will begin with a daytime temperature of -11°C (12°F). On 28 January, it will cool down slightly to -14°C (7°F), but after that, the thermometers will start rising quickly. By the end of the week, the daytime air will warm up to -9…-6°C (16…21°F). At night, severe frosts are not expected either — the temperature will not drop below -22°C (-8°F), and on the weekend it will even warm up to -13…-12°C (9…10°F).
At the same time, the end of January will be quite snowy. Snowfalls are forecast from 26 to 27 January, and then from 29 to 31 January.
Yandex Weather
According to the forecast offered by Yandex Weather, Altai Krai will also have winter-warm weather. At the beginning of the week, daytime temperatures of -10…-9°C (14…16°F) are expected, and from -17 to -12°C (1…10°F) at night. At the same time, snow will fall in the region.
The coldest weather is forecast for Wednesday, 28 January, when the thermometers will drop to -14°C (7°F) during the day and to -20°C (-4°F) at night. After that, the temperature in the region will start to rise rapidly. From Friday, 30 January, the region will see daytime temperatures from -10 to -6°C (14…21°F). At night, the air temperature will be from -15 to -11°C (5…12°F).
World-weather
World-weather also does not forecast severe frosts. According to its forecast, the coldest day will be 28 January, when it will cool down to -15°C (5°F), and the coldest night — 29 January with a temperature down to -18°C (0°F).
Before that, at the beginning of the week, temperatures from -12 to -9°C (10…16°F) are expected. At the same time, light snow will fall on Tuesday. On the weekend, the air in the region will warm up to -8°C (18°F). The nighttime temperature will be -11…-12°C (12…10°F).
