Emergency warning issued for rain, snow, and ice in Krasnodar Krai

From January 31 to February 1, the southern half of Krasnodar Krai is expecting heavy rain with thunderstorms, wind gusts of up to 25 m/s (56 mph), and on the southwestern tributaries of the Kuban River and rivers along the Black Sea coast — water level rises to unfavorable and dangerous marks, according to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).

Also, the Krasnodar Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (TsGMS) reported that during the day on February 2 and 3, as well as overnight and in the morning on February 4, heavy rains are expected in some parts of the krai. Forecasts include heavy wet snow accumulation on power lines and trees, ice (black ice), and reduced visibility.

According to Yandex.Weather, on January 31, Krasnodar will still have warm weather — up to +12°C (54°F). However, on February 1 it will be +4°C (39°F), on the 2nd — around +2°C (36°F), and on the 3rd the thermometer will drop to -3°C (27°F). Across the krai on January 31, daytime temperatures are expected to be +8…+13°C (46…55°F).

Earlier, agencies warned that from January 31 to February 4, a frontal boundary with precipitation will pass through the region.
