Yekaterinburg to Add New Dedicated Lanes on Busy Streets

This year, Yekaterinburg will increase the number of dedicated lanes for public transport. The lanes will be arranged on several sections:

• Amundsen Street, from Akademik Parin to Yekaterinburg Bypass Road;

• Cosmonauts Avenue, from Ilyich to Shefskaya;

• Cosmonauts Avenue, from Mashinostroiteley to Melkovsky Lane;

• Cosmonauts Avenue, from Chelyuskintsev to Frontovykh Brigad;

• Ordzhonikidze Street, from 40-letiya Oktyabrya to Mashinostroiteley.

The Yekaterinburg mayor«s office also reported that in 2026, the public transport fleet will be updated. It will be supplemented with 15 articulated buses, 100 large buses and 30 medium ones, as well as 50 trams and 50 trolleybuses.

Recall that not long ago, two new dedicated lanes for buses appeared in the center of Yekaterinburg. For example, in 2025, new dedicated lanes appeared on Cosmonauts Avenue, as well as on Karl Liebknecht and Serafima Deryabina streets.
