Yekaterinburg intersections to get new traffic cameras in 2026

The streets in Yekaterinburg where new traffic enforcement systems will be installed in 2026 have been revealed. The list of addresses was approved by the head of the regional Ministry of Transport, Denis Chegayev. It was clarified that these are accident-prone locations.

In Yekaterinburg, cameras will monitor a difficult section near the tram loop at Yuzhnaya (Southern) Station, where car traffic intersects with the tram line (serious accidents have already occurred there when drivers failed to yield to the trams).

The list also includes perennially congested intersections: Belinsky — Traktoristov — Perekhodny Lane (Bus Station), Kraul — Vikulova (VIZ district), Malysheva — Sacco and Vanzetti (center), Moskovskaya — Denisov-Uralksy Boulevard (Southwest), Chelyuskintsev — Grazhdanskaya (center), Titova — 8 Marta — Rizhsky Lane (Vtorchermet district), and others.

• speeding;

• driving into oncoming traffic;

• failure to yield to pedestrians;

• driving in a lane for public transport or stopping in it;

• violation of rules for using external lights;

• driver using a phone without a hands-free device while driving;

• driving without a seat belt;

• transporting passengers without seat belts;

• running a red light;

• failing to stop at the stop line;

• driving the wrong way on a one-way street;

• making a left turn or U-turn in violation of road signs (or markings).

It was clarified that some of the systems will be installed as part of the national project «Infrastructure for Life,» which also includes road reconstruction and repairs.
