Yaroslavl to Receive 32 New Trolleybuses
Authorities of Yaroslavl Oblast intend to fully renew the electric transport fleet by the end of 2026. The first step is the purchase of 32 new trolleybuses.

Minister of Road Facilities and Transport of the region Roman Dushko on 3 February announced plans to purchase 32 new trolleybuses for Yaroslavl. At a meeting of the committee of the Yaroslavl Oblast Duma, he stated: «We plan work this year to renew electric transport in Yaroslavl Oblast. Two main cities are Yaroslavl and Rybinsk. By the end of 2026, we plan to renew all electric transport in the region.»
Currently, 55 trolleybuses are in operation in Yaroslavl. Only nine of them were produced no earlier than 2021, the rest require replacement. Nine new vehicles are also planned to be equipped with autonomous running systems.
Financing for the renewal will be carried out through participation in federal programs. As Dushko explained: «And through treasury funds, writing off two-thirds, and through participation in leasing programs.»
Separately, it is noted that in the spring two trolleybus routes will be closed in Yaroslavl. This is related to the repair of tram tracks and dismantling of the contact network on Oktyabrya Avenue.
