Volgograd Truck Driver Trapped in Pole Crash — Video
In the Krasnooktyabrsky District of Volgograd, a Hyundai truck crashed into a pole. Due to damage to the vehicle, the driver could not get out on his own — rescue services were required.
Footage published by the Municipal Institution «Volgograd Rescue Service» (МУ «Служба спасения Волгограда») shows that the front of the truck was noticeably damaged by the collision with the pole. Rescuers gathered at the open doors, helping the driver out. In the final seconds, the driver«s cab is visible from the inside — the airbag deployed, but the metal was deformed.
The message accompanying the video states that the accident occurred on 2 February around 7 p.m. on Mendeleev Street.
«A truck hit a pole,» reported the Municipal Institution «Volgograd Rescue Service.» «Upon the arrival of rescuers at the scene, it was established that the driver was trapped in the Hyundai truck. Using hydraulic rescue equipment, the rescuers extracted the victim and handed him over to the ambulance crew.»
V1.RU is asking the regional health department (oblzdrav) about the condition of the injured driver and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region (GU MVD Rossii po Volgogradskoy oblasti) about the circumstances of the accident. Later, police said the driver lost control and hit the pole, and the health department added that after being examined, the victim refused hospitalization.
Let us recall that recently, in terms of accidents and other difficult road traffic situations, trucks in Volgograd have been unlucky. On the night of 2 February, a traffic restriction was introduced for them and passenger cars due to snowfall. Earlier, video captured a collision between a truck and a train from Moscow in the Novoanninsky District, a truck caught fire in the Dzerzhinsky District creating a traffic jam, and an accident involving a truck and a lorry occurred on the R228 Syzran–Saratov–Volgograd highway.
