Volgograd sees spike in paid car jump-start services during frost
In Volgograd, amid frightening frosts, the «jump-start the car» service is gaining mass popularity among motorists. For literally a couple of thousand rubles (approx. $24 at current rates), or even less, someone will come to the driver and help start the car. Additional services are also offered.
On a free classifieds website, drivers from all over the city offer each other help with jump-starting cars—not for free, of course. In the Krasnoarmeysky district, for example, there are offers from 1,000 rubles (approx. $12) for the service. They promise to solve the problem and jump-start the car in just a minute.
In the Kirovsky district, the price for the service is already cheaper—from 500 rubles (approx. $6). They offer to jump-start using cables.
— I«ll come quickly and start your car, — promises the service provider. — Roadside assistance: it doesn»t matter if you have a passenger car or a truck—a professional jump starter can handle any task. The main advantage of jump-starting with cables—you don«t have to rack your brains on how to reposition your car and adjust another car. Plus, risks of damaging the car»s electronics are eliminated.
In the Sovetsky district, an offer with a misleading «from 134 rubles» was found, although the price list starts from 3,000 rubles (approx. $36), and that«s exactly how much a jump-start will cost.

In the Voroshilovsky district, from just 500 rubles (approx. $6), they promise to start gasoline cars, diesel, trucks, tractors, and excavators. Here, by the way, as in the previous offer, unsuccessful help is also immediately explained and full payment is demanded.

In the Central district, the price for jump-starting starts from 2,000 rubles (approx. $24), which allows Sovetsky to remain the leader in expensiveness. The offer from the city center immediately starts with the familiar «100% payment» and ends with the same.

The offer from the Dzerzhinsky district returns us again to prices up to 1,000 rubles (approx. $12). They promise to be available almost around the clock, except for 8 hours—apparently allocated for sleep. Jump-starting, if you believe the ad, will be fast, safe, and from a «professional jump-starting device».
The offer from the Krasnooktyabrsky district differs from others in that a certain Alexander does not promise to be available almost around the clock, as others offering the service did. However, Alexander can only jump-start a passenger gasoline car with an engine up to 2.5 liters.
The offer for Traktorozavodsky, although listed as «Jump-starting the car with a booster», in reality, you«ll have to jump-start it yourself: they will only deliver the device to you. By the way, here too it is indicated that in case of failure, the service must still be paid in full.
