Volgograd residents complain about filthy new tram interiors

In Volgograd, tram passengers are complaining about dirt in the interiors of new «Lvyata» trams. According to residents, even in the morning, the floors are covered with a thick layer of a mixture of dust, snow, and anti-icing reagents, which are generously applied to city streets.

«This morning I was going to work,» one demanding passenger said indignantly. «The tram interior was very dirty, and the seats were somehow wet. I asked the driver why it was so dirty inside, and he answered that it simply isn»t cleaned. In my opinion, this is a bit wrong, especially considering the fare cost.«

It«s hard to assess the dryness of seat cushions and backs from the photo, but on the floor, a layer of rather liquid dirt is indeed visible. However, the passenger did not specify when exactly the photos were taken.

The Department of Municipal Services first asked passengers to pay attention to the weather conditions before filing complaints, and then added that according to current regulations, routine cleaning of the rolling stock with washing of the floor in the interior and body should be done daily, and «major» cleaning with washing, including panels and handrails in the interior, should be done weekly.
