Volgograd Region Bans Truck and Car Traffic Over Snowfall

A temporary traffic restriction has been imposed on roads in Volgograd and the Volgograd region due to snowfall. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region.
Due to adverse weather conditions, snowfall, and visibility limited to less than 50 meters, a temporary restriction on movement for freight and passenger vehicles has been introduced on federal public highways passing through the territory of the Volgograd region, up to the borders of the Voronezh, Saratov, Astrakhan, and Rostov regions, effective from 10:30 p.m. on February 2, police reported.
The traffic restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.
Recall that earlier, Governor Andrey Bocharov called on subordinates to limit vehicle movement on major roads in Volgograd. Due to the snowfall that began in the evening, the Second and Third Longitudinal Highways are already paralyzed, where trucks cannot overcome uncleared snow-covered inclines.
Police are urging people to avoid any trips by motor vehicles and to use alternative modes of transportation.
