Volgograd is being prepared for the closure of freight transport on the city«s key road network. Governor Andrey Bocharov announced this requirement at an operational meeting due to the heavy snowstorm that has begun in the region.

«In connection with heavy precipitation in the Volgograd region, Governor Andrey Bocharov has given instructions to the relevant authorities together with the heads of municipalities and structures responsible for the organization and safety of traffic, to take measures to restrict the movement of heavy trucks and other vehicles on the key road network of the Volgograd region based on the current operational situation, — the press service of the Volgograd region administration quotes the governor. — It has been ordered to pay additional attention to the timely clearing of the road network, the organization of uninterrupted public transport; to recommend that residents, unless absolutely necessary, not use personal vehicles and remove them from the roadway to ensure unimpeded work of road equipment.»

Recall that on the evening of February 2, a heavy snowstorm hit the city. The snow literally paralyzed traffic on the Second Longitudinal. A difficult situation is also observed on the Third Longitudinal in the area of the exit to Rostov. According to weather forecasters, the snow will continue all night.
