Volgograd: Fuel Prices Rise Again

Gas station networks continue to gradually increase the cost of gasoline amid severe cold, causing dissatisfaction among drivers.
On the morning of January 27, the price hike affected Lukoil gas stations, where motorists had previously encountered the replacement of winter diesel fuel with off-season fuel. New gasoline prices were:
- AI-92 — 63.37 rubles per liter (about $1 at current rates), which is 25 kopecks more than the previous value;
- AI-95 — 70.5 rubles (about $1 at current rates), whereas on December 31 a liter cost 70.25 rubles;
- AI-100 — 92.94 rubles (about $1 at current rates), an increase of 40 kopecks.
At Rosneft gas stations, tariffs remained at the level set since January 2. Here, a liter of AI-92 is priced at 62.7 rubles (about $1 at current rates), AI-95 at 68.55 rubles (about $1 at current rates), AI-95 «Pulsar» at 71.1 rubles (about $1 at current rates). Winter diesel fuel is offered at 74.3 rubles per liter (about $1 at current rates).
A significant price increase occurred the day before, on January 26, at Gazprom gas stations. The reasons for such «invisible» price hikes were previously explained by economics professor Igor Belskikh, who also gave forecasts for the current year.
