Famous blogger from Volgograd Anya Pokrov, who has millions of subscribers, faced extremely high prices in the taxi service during abnormal bad weather. The cost for a trip to Sheremetyevo Airport, from where she was flying to her hometown, exceeded five thousand rubles (about $50 at current rates).

Difficulties with ordering cars are also noted in Volgograd itself. In January, passengers complained about increased waiting times of up to 20 minutes. As the press service of Yandex explained, the driver shortage and increase in trip costs are directly related to snowfall.
«According to the service, the average dispatch time in Volgograd is about 5 minutes. During peak hours, for orders to remote areas, and against the backdrop of bad weather — snow and gusty wind — the dispatch time can increase to 8 minutes. During periods of worsening weather, demand for taxis grows, and some drivers temporarily do not go on duty due to difficult road conditions,» the company noted.
