Village in Khanty-Mansi Okrug loses public transport to city

The village currently has no bus service connecting it to the nearby city of Lyantor.
Residents of Verkhne-Mysovaya in Surgut district have been without public transport connecting them to the city of Lyantor since last September. There are also no pharmacies, shops, or post offices in the village, so to stock up on necessary provisions they are forced to travel 24 kilometers by taxi.
«Appeals to the administration of Lokosovo village and Surgut district did not yield results. The residents turned for help to the People»s Front (ONF) and to the President via the program «Annual Results with Vladimir Putin.» ONF experts contacted the residents and appealed to the prosecutor«s office,» the ONF said.
The prosecutor«s office uncovered the local administration»s inaction and issued a notice to the head of the municipality. The Department of Road Infrastructure of Yugra, in turn, is examining the condition of the road and considering the possibility of launching a route from Verkhne-Mysovaya to Langepas.
Updated: Investigators have initiated a procedural check. Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has taken the situation under control.
Earlier we wrote that the tourist-museum complex «Barsova Gora» was put into operation in Surgut district.
