Ufa resident injured by trolleybus doors, MUET denies occurrence

An elderly woman was pinched by the doors when entering a trolleybus. This was reported to the UFA1.RU editorial office by a reader. According to her, the passenger entered the compartment covered in blood but did not seek medical help.

«She did not call an ambulance, washed and treated the wound, and later her relatives picked her up,» said an eyewitness to the incident.

The editorial office asked for a comment from the carrier under whose control the trolleybus is, but their version of events was different. In MUET, the municipal electric transport company, they reported that no such incidents were recorded on the specifically indicated trolleybus No. 16. According to representatives of the enterprise, the woman was not pinched by the doors — allegedly, she tripped and fell already in the compartment of another trolleybus and on another route before that.

Currently, the enterprise is conducting an investigation into the incident — video surveillance recordings will be reviewed. If violations are found in the driver«s actions, measures of responsibility may be applied to him, including a fine. But first, it needs to be determined whether the incident actually occurred or if the driver is being slandered.

We asked lawyer Roman Petrov to comment on the situation. According to him, the situation could turn out very seriously.

«The driver [could be held] at least administratively liable, if not serious harm; if serious — a criminal case. If something similar happens to you on public transport, you should file a report with the investigative committee and document the treatment expenses — they will be compensated by the guilty party.»

Speaking of transport — on a number of routes, fares have been increased.
