Truck and car traffic jam forms near Pereslavl-Zalessky

On 27 January, a multi-lane traffic jam arose on the federal highway M-8 near Pereslavl-Zalessky from the direction of Moscow. Dozens of trucks and passenger cars were caught in the jam.

Drivers report a long standstill. «Three hours to leave Moscow and then get stuck in a traffic jam on the incline. Nothing is moving. A lot of cars,» drivers report from the highway. «We have been standing in the traffic jam for more than an hour. Trucks are moving extremely slowly or not at all,» Yaroslavl residents added.
According to eyewitnesses, the cause of the traffic jam was the inability of heavy trucks to climb the incline. On the Yandex.Maps service, this section near the village of Vasilyevo is marked in yellow. The length of the traffic jam does not exceed one kilometer.
In the Federal State Institution «Administration of Highways »Kholmogory«» (FKU Upravlenie Dorog «Kholmogory») they stated that traffic on the highway is operating normally.
Earlier, on 9 January, a serious traffic jam had already formed on the same section of the M-8. At that time, traffic was stationary from the village of Vasilyevo to the entrance to the village of Glebovskoye. Actors of the TV series «Soldiers», who were traveling to Yaroslavl for a performance, were caught in that jam. That traffic jam only cleared in the morning of 10 January. On the morning of 27 January, road traffic jams were also observed in Yaroslavl.
