Trolleybus Wires Fall on Toyota RAV4 in Novosibirsk, Damage Assessed

In Novosibirsk, the Municipal Unitary Enterprise «City Electric Transport» (MUP «GET») will have to pay 169,300 rubles (approximately $1,800 at current rates) for contact network wires that fell on a car. This was reported by the press service of courts of general jurisdiction.
The Zaeltsovsky District Court considered a civil lawsuit against the municipal enterprise for compensation of material damage. The court found that on October 24, 2023, at 21:25 near the house at Republikanskaya Street, 11, a wire break occurred. They fell on a Toyota RAV4 car, and the vehicle sustained damage.
During the court proceedings, an examination was appointed to determine the cost of repairs.
«Based on the assessment of the presented evidence, the court concluded that the operating organization was at fault for the improper maintenance of transport infrastructure objects,» the press service of the courts reported.
The court partially satisfied the plaintiff«s claims. The decision has not entered into legal force. A correspondent from NGS sent a request to the Novosibirsk city hall.
