Transport department addresses Omsk's new bus purchases

Members of the city council«s transport infrastructure committee discussed at today»s meeting the equipment of Omsk«s transport for carrying disabled persons. Simultaneously, the question of purchasing new rolling stock arose.
As told by the director of the transport department, Vadim Kormilets, out of more than 700 buses, trolleybuses, and trams, more than 500 are equipped for transporting disabled persons. They try to distribute them evenly across routes and at certain intervals so that convenient transport runs regularly. Information about it is reflected in the navigation.
Deputies raised the question of whether new transport will be purchased for Omsk. As it turned out, there is no reason for joy yet.
«Due to the difficult financial situation of the enterprises — JSC »PATP No. 8« and MP »Electric Transport« — further renewal of urban passenger transport in Omsk without support from the federal budget is impossible,» explained the head of the transport department.
However, private carriers purchased new transport in 2025 — as many as 55 vehicles. How many buses they will purchase in 2026 is still unclear.
Earlier we reported on the amount of new transport that was purchased in Omsk in recent years.
