Tram Service Temporarily Suspended on Lenin Avenue in Tula

In Tula, the tram traffic pattern on Lenin Avenue will be temporarily altered. The restrictions are linked to preparatory work for the second stage of the reconstruction of the Orlovsky overpass.
As reported by the city administration, preparatory work on the bridge structure will begin on 7 February 2026. If weather permits, the main stage is scheduled to start in the first ten days of April. The work will involve dismantling the tram tracks, leading to a temporary suspension of tram service on the section from the Orlovsky overpass to Mendeleevsky village.
For passengers, a shuttle tram service will be organized from the «Stanislavsky Street» stop to the Pedagogical University and back. By order of Tula administration head Ilya Bespalov, travel on this section will be free. This will allow residents to travel to the «Pedagogical University» stop and transfer to other public transport.
Car traffic will continue according to the previous scheme — on four lanes: two heading out of the city and two towards the center. Furthermore, by 14 February, pedestrian access between the work zone and the roadway is planned to be organized, ensuring safe movement conditions.
Residents and visitors of Tula are asked to consider the temporary changes when planning their routes. Let us recall that the reconstruction of the Orlovsky overpass is proceeding in two stages. The first stage started last year — work is being carried out on half of the overpass from the Kaluga Highway side. The second stage involves repairing part of the structure from the Ryazanskaya Street side. The reconstruction is planned to be fully completed in autumn 2026.
