The Krasnodar transport department has warned of new restrictions on the Turgenev Bridge, where major repairs have been underway since mid-April 2025.

The bridge will be fully closed several times — from 08:00 on January 30 to 20:00 on February 1.

«Each closure will last no more than 10 minutes. This is necessary so that workers can safely carry out the work,» clarified the transport department.

Recall that the work on the bridge, costing 1.2 billion rubles (approximately $16 million at current rates), is being carried out by the company «Osnova», owned by deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Krai (ZSK) Alexander Karpenko. He is currently facing an anti-corruption lawsuit. According to the prosecutor«s office, Karpenko, together with former State Duma deputy and former vice-governor Anatoly Voronovsky and current State Duma deputy Andrey Doroshenko »seized« the road construction sector in Kuban.

They distributed state contracts for road work in the region among «their own firms» and received kickbacks in the form of percentages from the estimates. Companies that refused to play by such rules were simply squeezed out of the market.

Also involved in this scheme is Kuban Transport Minister Alexey Pereverzev, who was first placed in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) and then released on a written pledge not to leave. A source from 93.RU reported that Pereverzev gave testimony against colleagues.
