Sverdlovsk swaps Finist trains for regular commuter trains; Kurgan unaffected

Due to severe frosts, Sverdlovsk Oblast has replaced Finist high-speed trains with regular commuter trains, but services in Kurgan continue to operate normally.

In Kurgan, high-speed train No. 849/850, which runs on the Yekaterinburg–Kurgan route, continues to operate as usual. The press service of the Federal Passenger Company (FPK) emphasized to the editorial office of 45.RU that no replacement of rolling stock is planned on the Kurgan route, and the schedule remains unchanged.

«Currently, train No. 849/850 Yekaterinburg–Kurgan is running with its usual rolling stock and on the same schedule; no replacement has been made,» the company stated in response to an editorial inquiry from 45.RU.

Earlier, the press service of the Sverdlovsk Suburban Company reported that from 17 to 31 January, ES104 series «Finist» electric trains have been replaced with regular commuter trains on suburban routes. The changes affected routes between Yekaterinburg and Nizhnyaya Tura, Kamensk-Uralsky, Shalya, Kuzino, Kachkanar (up to Koltsovo), and others.
