Sochi airport warns of delays due to Moscow weather

Sochi Airport has warned passengers that due to severe weather conditions at Moscow«s aviation hubs, flight delays are possible at the resort. A storm warning will be in effect in the capital until 12:00 on January 29. Forecasters predict very heavy snow, blizzards, and icy conditions. Over the next two days, airlines may adjust their flight schedules across the entire route network, including to Sochi.

«At present, Sochi Airport is operating normally. Hospitality service managers are working in the halls to provide assistance if questions arise. We draw attention to the possibility of forced changes: delays, cancellations, or consolidations of flights. For example, Sheremetyevo Airport is currently closed to receiving and dispatching flights until 12:00. Airlines are promptly informing passengers of all changes,» said a statement from Sochi Airport«s press service.

Moreover, airlines are working to provide passengers on delayed flights with all necessary amenities in accordance with legal requirements: meals, refreshments, and in case of a long delay — accommodation in a hotel.

Passengers are advised to check their flight status with their airline before departure. They should carefully monitor up-to-date information in audio announcements, on electronic boards and information screens in the terminal complex, as well as on the official Sochi Airport website and in the Telegram bot: @AerodinamikaBot.
