Snowfall paralyzes traffic on Volgograd's Second Longitudinal

Drivers stuck in traffic near the «College of Oil and Gas» stop.
On the evening of February 2, drivers were stuck in a giant traffic jam on the Second Longitudinal in Volgograd due to snowfall. According to them, traffic is paralyzed on University Avenue from the Aquarel shopping center to the administration of the Soviet District.

As reported by readers of V1.RU who were trying to get home after work, a huge traffic jam formed near the «College of Oil and Gas» stop. They also sent several photos to the editorial office. Judging by the footage, traffic is hindered due to trucks that cannot climb the hill because of snow drifts.
Winter snowfall has completely paralyzed the main roads of Volgograd.
According to the service «Yandex.Maps», traffic jams in the city have currently reached 5 points out of 10 possible. However, some road sections are «red», such as University Avenue. If you were planning to go to «Aquarel» or, conversely, returning from there, we advise you to wait. Otherwise, you will get into a traffic jam stretching to the intersection with 35th Guards Division.
The same situation, according to anonymous Telegram channels, is on the Third Longitudinal.
«Trucks are skidding on the ascent and rolling back uncontrollably. And this snowy chaos is only getting worse, the road is being swept non-stop! Be extremely careful!»
Forecasters are warning drivers of ice on the roads and snow cover. Tomorrow, they promise heavy snow and frost. The temperature in some areas of the region will drop to -27°C (-17°F) at night and to -19°C (-2°F) during the day. In the city, it will be a few degrees warmer: at night -12… -14°C (10… 7°F), during the day -10… -12°C (14… 10°F).
