Snow buries road, 15-km traffic jam on M-4

A heavy snowfall has caused a 15-kilometer traffic jam on the M-4 highway towards Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, with authorities advising drivers to seek alternative routes.

On the M-4 highway, movement towards Kamensk-Shakhtinsky is difficult due to snowfall. A 15-kilometer traffic jam was recorded at the 951st and 979th kilometers of the highway, reports the Don traffic police. Drivers in the «M-4 Don Highway» chat write that they have to stand because of trucks that cannot climb the uncleaned road.

“Traffic police crews are working on site, traffic regulation is being carried out. Drivers are recommended to choose alternative routes if possible, observe speed limits and distance, be extremely attentive and comply with the requirements of traffic police officers,” reports the press service of the Don traffic police.

On the M-4 highway today, drivers are having a hard time due to the blizzard. Authorities, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the traffic police recommend not driving out without a compelling need.
