SibAero Prepares Project for New Terminal at Bratsk Airport

The company Siberian Airports (SibAero) is preparing a project for a new terminal complex at Bratsk Airport, Interfax reports citing the airline«s press service.
«The current airport terminal was commissioned in 1969. Its capacity is 250 people per hour, but details on the new terminal»s parameters are not yet available. The concept is still under approval,« the press service noted.
The capacity of the existing runway is 11 takeoffs and landings per hour.
In 2025, a new apron with a de-icing fluid collection point was put into operation, and a building for the emergency rescue service was constructed. In 2026, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the storm sewer, main taxiway, and replacement of runway lights.
In turn, airport manager Sergei Denisenko told Interfax that in 2025, Bratsk Airport served 246.1 thousand passengers, which is 5% less than the previous year. The decrease is linked to a reduction in flights to Moscow. Meanwhile, the load on regular flights operated by airline S7 was almost 100%.
The most significant growth in passenger traffic in 2025 was recorded on the Bratsk-Irkutsk route — almost 1.5 times, to 53.6 thousand people.
Last year, the airport launched a seasonal direct flight to Sochi for the first time in 17 years, used by 4 thousand passengers.
Charter flights (shift transportation) were operated by airlines UTair, Arktica, KrasAvia, and Yamal.
The airport«s cargo turnover in 2025 was 316 tons, which is 32% less than in 2024.
Bratsk Airport is located in the northwest of Irkutsk Region, 8 km from Bratsk, and has international status. The runway can accommodate aircraft without restrictions on maximum takeoff weight. Flights from the airport go to Moscow, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, and Sochi.
LLC Siberian Airports owns and operates the airports of Novokuznetsk (a new passenger terminal was built and commissioned in 2025) and Bratsk. Among the company«s other assets are JSC Airport-Service (a handling operator at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport), LLC Capital-Avia (handles cargo at the same airport), LLC Aero-Cargo (manages the cargo complex at Vladivostok Airport). Also, SibAero is the founder of LLC TaishetAero (created for the construction of Taishet Airport in Irkutsk Region), LLC Boguchany Aero (for developing a project to expand airport infrastructure in the north of Krasnoyarsk Territory), LLC Terminal Irkutsk, and LLC Terminal Abakan.
According to the service Kontur.Fokus, Siberian Airports belongs to the company RUSAL. In 2024, SibAero had revenue of 425.9 million rubles (approximately $4.7 million at current rates), and net profit was 10.3 million rubles (about $114,000 at current rates). Data for 2025 has not yet been reflected.
The company RUSAL is part of En+ Group — a vertically integrated producer of aluminum and electricity. The company manages assets in energy, non-ferrous metallurgy, mining, as well as logistics and strategically related industries. One of the founders of En+ Group is Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska. RUSAL owns aluminum plants in Bratsk and Shelekhov, as well as in Taishet.
