Popular Chelyabinsk Marshrutka to Cease Operations

In Chelyabinsk, marshrutka number 17, which connects the AMZ settlement and Professor Blagikh Street, will cease operations on January 26. Instead, passengers are advised to use bus number 17a, which follows a similar route. This was announced on Thursday, January 22, by the Transport Organizer of Chelyabinsk Region.
Passengers will remember marshrutka number 17 for its outdated PAZ buses, which had no room during rush hour. However, after many years of service on the route, the carrier has decided on its own initiative to stop servicing the route.
«The corresponding statement on the early termination of operations was submitted by the carrier LLC »Taxi-Service Com«. For trips from the AMZ settlement, use buses with regulated fares numbers 5, 28, 51 with a transfer at the Furniture Settlement to bus number 17a, whose route runs along Beivelya, Chicherina, Komsomolsky Prospekt, 40-Letiya Pobedy, Bratyev Kashirinykh, Sverdlovsky Prospekt, Vorovskogo, Blyukhera,» listed the department. «On the route, new mid-class buses are operating, all benefits are in effect, and bank and transport cards are accepted for payment.»
Earlier, another marshrutka with PAZ buses — number 66 disappeared from the route. And a year before that, marshrutka number 40 ceased functioning. It is possible that the carriers« refusal to service these routes is related to the launch of new trolleybuses on AMZ. Until spring 2024, both number 66 and number 40 were in demand among residents.
Updated at 14:45. The Ministry of Transport has decided to continue the operation of route number 17 until the end of this winter.
