Omsk to ban chaotic bus ads and overhaul transport system

At a plenary session of the city council, deputies adopted a proposal to introduce a unified design code for public transport. Failure to comply with the requirements may result in a fine of 10,000 rubles (about $111 at current rates) for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
Bus interiors will also be put in order: chaotic advertisements will be removed and a unified passenger information system will be created.
«The main color will probably be orange, but the final decision will be made by a specially authorized body. It is also planned to put the bus interiors in order: remove chaotic advertisements and create a unified passenger information system,» said Yury Archibasov, chairman of the committee on transport infrastructure.
The city council also adopted stricter penalties for illegal parking. A company will pay 40,000 rubles (about $444 at current rates) for a car left in an unauthorized place, and an individual will pay 5,000 rubles (about $56 at current rates). For unpaid parking in a paid lot, the fine will be 3,500 rubles (about $39 at current rates) for everyone.
Penalties for parking on lawns and children«s playgrounds will be increased separately. Warnings are to be abolished and fines increased. They will amount to 4,000 rubles (about $44 at current rates) for citizens, 15,000 rubles (about $167 at current rates) for officials, and 30,000 rubles (about $333 at current rates) for legal entities.
The amendments will now be considered by the regional legislative assembly.
Previously, NGS55.RU reported that the Omsk budget would increase by 600 million rubles (about $6.7 million at current rates).
