Novosibirsk to clean up snow-clogged Obskaya Street
The cleaning operation is set to be boosted by acquiring new machinery.
The Novosibirsk mayor«s office explained how it will address the road cleaning issue on Obskaya Street. Local residents were forced to wait in traffic jams due to a large amount of snow.
According to the mayor«s office, the municipal institution »Oktyabrskoye« is responsible for cleaning the section of road where the snow problem occurred.
«The technical assignment is being formed as a priority and adjusted depending on road and weather conditions, with possible deviation from the planned schedule. Cleaning the area is often complicated by parked vehicles. Work to clear Obskaya Street is being carried out on a scheduled basis. The latest cleaning was performed on January 23,» the mayor«s office clarified.
The cleaning operation is planned to be enhanced with new equipment. MKIU «Oktyabrskoye» has already concluded municipal contracts for snow loading, removal, road grading, and the operation of front loaders.
Earlier, NGS reported that they plan to leave snow banks on Novosibirsk roads.
