Novosibirsk Residents Raise Money for Grader to Clear Road

Residents of Oktyabrsky District in Novosibirsk are having difficulty driving along Obskaya Street due to snow. A reader of NGS reported on the road cleaning issues. According to her, local residents are forced to sit in traffic jams every day and are collecting funds on their own to clear the problematic section.

«Traffic jams constantly form on this road. In the morning, people sit in traffic for an hour and a half, and in the evening, even longer,» shared a local resident.

Residents of the house at 46 Obskaya Street have decided to collect money to independently hire a grader to clear the street.

«The grader can start work tomorrow, January 23, from 23:00 at night. The amount that needs to be collected and paid is 36,700 rubles (approximately $408 at current rates) for 9 hours of work at 4,100 rubles per hour. If we raise the amount by 20:00 today, then they will start cleaning the road tomorrow,» clarified in the message.

The residents also appealed to the management company «Arkada», but they were told that it is not responsible for this section. An NGS correspondent managed to contact representatives of the organization.

«The road belongs to the Oktyabrsky Administration. We have repeatedly appealed to them, and they responded that there is no equipment available, it»s very busy. The equipment is working around the clock, wait,« clarified a representative of the management company »Arkada«.

An NGS correspondent sent a request to the Novosibirsk city hall to get a comment on the incident. At the time of publication, no response had been received.

Previously, NGS reported that the prosecutor«s office checked how the fourth bridge is being cleaned. They identified violations.
