Nizhny Novgorod paralyzed by 10-point traffic jams
Traffic jams of maximum intensity paralyzed major highways in the city.
Throughout the day of 28 January, Nizhny Novgorod has been suffering from traffic jams rated at the maximum 10 points. Data from online services such as Yandex.Maps confirms the severity of the situation.
Online mapping services confirmed the severe congestion across the city.
Congestion has covered almost all major highways, including both the Nagornaya (Upper) and Zarechnaya (Trans-River) parts of the city.
The most difficult situation is observed in the center, where traffic has practically come to a standstill. The following areas are particularly problematic:
- Belinsky, Osharskaya, Vaneeva, Rodionova, and Timiryazeva streets;
- Oksky descent;
- Gagarin Avenue.
Serious difficulties have also arisen on key bridges: the Metro Bridge, Kanavinsky, and Myzinsky. Problematic sections also include Bauman, Sovetskaya, Sergey Akimov, Romanov, Samarkand streets and a number of others.
The situation is aggravated by ongoing abnormal snowfalls, as well as numerous road traffic accidents registered both in the city and in the region.
